WELCOME TO ACHILLES INTERNATIONAL NEW ZEALAND
To provide New Zealanders with disabilities the opportunity to participate alongside able-bodied athletes in local, national and international events.
RIP Greg Boyed – A truly great friend of Achilles, an Ambassador who walked the talk.
The Achilles NZ family is mourning the sudden loss of one of our own, Greg Boyed.
Greg died on Monday, 20 August, whilst in Switzerland with his wife and youngest child. He was 48.
Athletes, guides, fellow ambassadors and all involved in Achilles fondly remember Greg’s great sense of humour and fun, the guitar he’d pull out to celebrate a great day guiding and his willingness to help others.
This has come as a great shock to all and our thoughts are with his family who loved him greatly.
Achilles NZ Partners with PARKRUN New Zealand
A Special welcome to Lian and Noel from parkrun New Zealand. The National Manager had a very productive meeting with Lian and Noel and as a result Achilles NZ and parkrun have engaged in a new partnership which we believe will be of immense benefit to both organisations. As Lian and Noel have indicated “parkrun New Zealand aims to support and assist Achilles NZ members, walkers and runners in taking part in parkrun events and encouraging support amongst the parkrun community”
Please see your local Chapter lead for more information concerning the nearest parkrun venue if you feel like participating in a 5km on a Saturday morning around New Zealand.
MEET ACHILLES NEW ZEALAND'S AMBASSADORS
In New Zealand our Achilles Ambassadors not only guide disabled athletes through various marathons, but selflessly help us to raise awareness of the Achilles mission locally. Want to meet them? Find out how!
Anyone of any age with a disability who wants to get moving is welcome to become a member of Achilles International New Zealand.

Even if you can't spare any of your time we always need donations to keep the charity working for our athletes.
