Extra Auckland Sunday Training
Calling all Auckland guides....
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Between now and the New York Marathon on Sunday 6 November we’re going to be meeting a little earlier before the normal 8.00 am Training Session so that we can help our New York Athletes get some miles in their legs to help them prepare for the Marathon.
We’re starting on Sunday 5 June with our first one - meeting at 7.15 am in the AUT Millennium carpark to do 60 mins on the road prior to the session at 8.00am.
Please arrive 5-10 mins early so that we’re good to go for a 7.15 am start.
Each fortnight we’ll post the meeting time. There will be a map to follow, and an easy out and back course.
THE MORE GUIDES WE HAVE - THE MORE HELP & SUPPORT WE CAN GIVE OUR ATHLETES!
Below is the plan for training - any questions in relation to this, please contact Kiri.
Achilles NZ at Cigna Round the Bays 2016 in Wellington
Achilles NZ is the official charity of Cigna Round the Bays in Wellington.
The team of around 60 athletes and guides participated in Cigna Round the Bays 2016 coming together from all over NZ, to join our primary sponsor Cigna New Zealand, participating across all the distances from the 6.5km, 10km or the Cigna Achilles Half Marathon. Great fun was had by all - special thanks to Cigna New Zealand as our primary sponsor, but also to Champion System New Zealand for our new t-shirts. See pictures below or our Facebook page for more.
As well as participating in the event, the team raised funds for the charity through their Give-A-Little pages and generated over $1000 - awesome effort all around!
Most of our 2016 Achilles Team is now assembled for this year’s TCS New York Marathon which will be held on Sunday 6 November 2016. The athletes and their guides will be taking on the challenge of participating with 50,000 others in the biggest and best marathon in the world - New York!
