Achilles International New Zealand provides New Zealanders with disabilities the opportunity to participate alongside able-bodied athletes in local mainstream events like Cigna Round the Bays, Taupo Half Marathon, the Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington Marathons (and more), as well as the high-profile international New York Marathon.

Cigna Round The Bays - Sunday 19th February
Cigna Round the Bays Wellington official charity partner is Achilles International New Zealand.

Registrations for Achilles athletes and guides are kindly being covered by Cigna and Sport Wellington.

Back to the mountain: Disabled Kiwi determined to conquer Coast to Coast
Richard Warwick will embark on a 30.5 kilometre mountain run this weekend - his second attempt to conquer the harsh leg of the Coast to Coast multi-sport event.
The Nelson father-of-five is almost completely paralysed down his left side after he was struck with a brain bleed at 16-years-old caused by a condition called arteriovenous malformation.....

ICAP Fundraising Day 2016
Achilles ambassadors Garth Bray & Niva Retimanu were in Wellington for the ICAP Charity Day on 7th December along with Achilles Chairperson Jo Walker.
An incredible $36,000 was raised for Achilles NZ. We are extremely grateful to ICAP for this amazing donation!

Hannah Pascoe: At South Island Para-Cycling Talent Identification and Development Camp
Hannah Pascoe who has taken part in New York twice with Achilles and completed a triathlon recently took part in the South Island Para-Cycling Talent Identification and Development Camp. We are unbelievably proud of Hannah and wish her all the best. To see the full story, follow this link.

This story relates to how she is undertaking the 2016 Dunedin Marathon (her 13th in total) and how her disability brought her out of her shell and now undertaking numerous runs, triathlons etc - an inspiration to many, both with and without disabilities!
